Wine tasting with food pairing

A wine tasting with food pairing is a gastronomic experience that combines wines with specific foods to highlight the characteristics of both, achieving a harmony of flavors and aromas. The goal is for the flavors of the wine and the dishes to complement and enrich each other.

In our premises we carry out two types of tastings:

  1. Tasting - tasting of quality wines and cheeses with Iberian hams

  2. Sparkling wine tasting with oyster pairing (French, Asturian, Valencian )

A wine tasting with cheese and Iberian ham pairing is a gastronomic experience that combines the richness and complexity of the flavours of cold meats and cheeses with a selection of wines that enhance and complement these nuances. This combination seeks to create a balance between the intense flavours of the Iberian hams, the variety of textures of the cheeses and the acidity, body and aromas of the wines.

  • Appetizer:

    • Iberian Acorn-fed Ham with Brut Nature Cava.

    • Pairing: Cava, with its freshness and bubbles, cleanses the palate after the fat of the ham, while highlighting its nuances of nuts and umami.

  • First round:

    • Fresh goat cheese with Sauvignon Blanc.

    • Pairing: The vibrant acidity of Sauvignon Blanc harmonizes with the acidic and creamy touch of goat cheese, creating a fresh and light combination.

  • Second round:

    • Iberian loin with Tempranillo Crianza.

    • Pairing: The spicy flavors of the loin are complemented by the fruity and slightly spicy notes of the Tempranillo, while the tannins balance the salinity.

  • Third round:

    • Cured Manchego Cheese with Rioja Reserva.

    • Pairing: The aged cheese, with its firm texture and intense flavour, finds balance in the Rioja Reserva, which provides notes of vanilla, spices and red fruits, enhancing the flavour of the cheese.

  • End:

    • Cabrales cheese with port.

    • Pairing: The strong, salty flavour of Cabrales is softened by the sweetness of Port, creating a delicious and balanced contrast.

This type of tasting offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the synergy between the rich and varied flavours of cheeses and Iberian products, together with the diversity of wine profiles.

Wine tasting with oysters is a refined and delicious dining experience, as pairing fresh seafood with appropriate wines can bring out the best of both. Oysters have a delicate, slightly saline and mineral flavor, so it is essential to choose wines that do not overwhelm their subtlety and that go well with their texture and freshness.

First round:

Wine: Verdejo

Oysters: Small oysters, with a slightly sweet flavor.

Pairing: The acidity of the Verdejo and its saline profile highlight the softness and freshness of the oysters.

Second round:

Wine: Sauvignon Blanc

Oysters: Larger, saltier oysters.

Pairing: The citrus and herbal notes of Sauvignon Blanc balance and cleanse the palate, highlighting the minerality of the oysters.

Third round:

Wine: Cava Brut.

Oysters: Oysters with a drop of lemon.

Pairing: The bubbles of Champagne complement the texture of the oysters and the lemon provides an acidic touch that harmonizes perfectly with the wine.

The goal of an oyster wine tasting is to explore how each wine can transform the taste experience of oysters, enhancing their freshness, texture, and saline nuances. It is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the sea and the vine in perfect harmony!
